Over 447ps with TOMEI ARMS M8270 Turbo Kit for the SR20DET!!

We went to Auto Service Mori in Japan for an interview with CARBOY magazine on article on the new M8270 turbo for the SR20DET.  Mr. Mori’s chief mechanic & MSC driver Kenji’s 180SX was used for installation and testing.

Specification of the vehicle is, stock 2L engine with Pulsar pistons.  (The Pulsar piston has a cooling channel).  Other specifications are TOMEI 260-12.0 cams, TOMEI exhaust manifold, Expreme outlet, and straight pipe.  The ECU is managed by Reytec.

Before noon, turbo photography, different explanations, and preparation for dyno was taken place, and finally from the afternoon the setting up began.  After consulting with Mr. Mori, we decided on setting up with a boost of 1.3k.  With his experience, he sets up using Reytec while checking the exhaust pressure.

Along the way, he checks the power after performing setup of the actuator and once the general map was complete.

The power was 430ps but there was slight room to be squeezed at high revolution.

So, we asked for resetting up of these areas, and rechecked the power again.

As a result, with 1.35k of boost, peak power was 447.7ps at 7140rpm, and peak torque was 51.4kg/m at 5690rpm.

It was highly favored by Mr. Mori and the owner, Kenji, and says that in drift the engine is constantly revving, and you are able to keep it at high revolution, and “It should considerably be a fighting advantage,”

In actuality, by looking at the graph, you can see the beautiful power graph without any weird drops.

Of course, since it is a large sized turbo the peak torque will be at a high revolution, but by informing our customers with these information, and having them make use of it, we were convinced that it will satisfy our customers.

He will be participating with this setup in the upcoming MSC at Mobara Circuit on November 3rd, so we would like to expect great results.
