Tomei User: Silvia S14 in Australia – Braden Mace

Here is another nice ride that sports some Tomei Powered Products. This special Nissan Silvia S14 (200SX) is from the land down under, Australia.

What started out as a simple cam shaft and valve train upgrade to my SR20 turned into a full blown tomei motor. A slightly sad or should i say eggy set of conrods pushed me to make the decision of completely rebuilding my engine. The main goal for the build was reliability and a quality product to perform well. I had studied magazines cover to cover with articles about SR20’s. the one thing that was common across most builds was Tomei products. Be it a simple set of cams or rocker arm stoppers to complete crate motors. I ignored australian made products, even though they were priced well and could be delivered to your door within 3 days. I decided to purchase almost a complete 2.0L catalogue of Tomei parts for my rebuild and set my machinist out to assemble it all. With 0.03g difference in balance across all rods and pistons certainly was proof of why the decision was a wise one in comparison to the Australian made product. My machinist was head over heels and so was I. In the end a reliable motor to take 18psi of boost and run standard 8.3:1 standard compression ratio. PERFECT!
