Here we have a Soarer, down under, packing a tuff Tomei Technical Trax 2 Way LSD.
Although Tomei has very limited products for this car, we are still very happy to see another true to heart car enthusiast enjoying our products when possible. Here are words from the owner.
“Car was bought in Australia about 7 years ago but has seen very little action since I moved to Tokyo about 6 years ago. The car is kept at home but driven here and there by my parents. More than a drifter or super sports car, I’ve aimed at creating a comfortable, torquey all-round car that remains reliable. To date, the car has run back to back bests of 13.26 @ 105mph with 2.01 60ft.
Mods were at that stage very minimal with just a full turbo back exhaust, front mount intercooler, intake and Apexi SAFC-II tune (and no LSD!).”
“After the recent massive earthquake in Japan, I decided to extend my vacation to Australia. With my new found free time I decided to jump on the modding path again and picked up a few parts, including a Tomei Technical TRAX 2 Way LSD, a shift kit for the automatic transmission, a cooler for the trans and decided to throw on a HKS oil relocation and cooler set that I had stockpiled for years under the roof. I did all the work myself with fitting the items and fabricating some new brackets for all the coolers and lines.”
“Unfortunately I didn’t get a chance to try out the new setup on the strip, but I’m aiming for a high 12 now with current mods. Next mods to come will be a PowerFC, with a tune @ 14psi via a boost control kit.”
“(The car currently runs at 12psi with no boost controller) and JZA80 Supra 4 pot brakes for the front and 2 pots for the rears.”
“In the meantime I’m going to just drift the 180 that I bought over here recently.”

“Exterior wise, it has a set of 17×8 and 17×9 dish wheels, but they will be replaced with the 19×9 and 19×10 Auto Couture Supremes that are sitting on my balcony in Tokyo..
I can’t wait to go back to Australia and keep modding and try it all out on the strip!”
