Buttonwillow Raceway is situated about an hour north from LA in a bleak landscape. It sort of has a similar feeling to Tsukuba in Japan which is the home of Time Attack in Japan.

From here it's only a 10min drive to the track.
The day’s concept was also to interact with other competitors to help contribute to the event and boost the events atmosphere. So instead of leaving the car in a close space of a garage we decided to setup out in the open so to give everyone close access to the car if they wanted to see it up close and personal.

Mr. Ogikubo from CUSCO (CARROSSER) with his team of engineers is going through the car for final preparations and for a final check on everything.

So many people visited our tent and car with Media, other entrants and spectators as well.
The game plan now is to ease in with the attack through the day and improve on the time with each session outing.

Now with the warmer temperatures everything is in Tarzan Yamadas hands as he is doing what he does best. Time Attack!
During the short session with 3 quick laps the TOMEI CUSCO IMPREZA is doing well with Mr. Yamada piloting the machine well. The cars combination of chassis, engine, and aerodynamics setup with Mr. Yamada is showing the best balance.
Everything is going smoothly as planned and the car goes back and forth from the track to the pits and again on the track. Everything is checked and worked on from software to hardware.
Eventually a new record was achieved of 44:372 seconds which is a large gap to 2nd place car and we took the overall win!
The Engine.
After resolving the initial problems the engine performed well. Designed NOT as an all out true race engine that not everyone can handle but an engine which almost anyone can get access to for any street course competition. For an all round perfect balance for any competition use and a good balance of power and torque gains. The engine parts and even now the Genesis Complete Engine package can be ordered from any TOMEI Dealer.
